The Lucas County Bee

   Wes Frazier at Bunker Bar on Eber Rd. has been doing business in Spencer since FOREVER….. The Bunker features both full lunch and dinner menus, an extensive mix of classic Americana Sports Bar food and of course cold brew with a clean fun atmosphere. On the Rental Hall side of the building is a clean 400 person capacity venue for Bridal Showers, Company Parties, Weddings, Class Reunions, Holiday Parties, and Baby Showers.

   As an aside…..I was sitting down to write this article and ran into a review of the Bunker Bars burgers by the “Burger Review Guy”. The Review was pretty darn good so my son and I went Friday afternoon for a burger to see for ourselves. I got the Bacon Cheese Burger, the kid got the Mushroom Swiss. We both had the same thought. They are big, juicy and good. Very good fries as well….zero leftovers. The service was as good as any restaurant in Toledo as far as I’m concerned. Very friendly.

   It seems like things are going well for Bunker Bar but Wes wants to do more business. The Hall Rental is limited in its ability to do events on Sundays because of a liquor license restriction. No mixed drinks or Wine can be served on Sundays with the current license. As a result they are closed on Sundays. Frazier needs Spencer Township residents to vote in favor of The Bunker Bar on Nov 4 to have the additional rider on his license on Nov 4 so he can expand into events into Sundays. This would allow the Hall to have an open bar for the Banquet and Event hall which would no doubt attract many more events like Bridal Showers, Business Holiday Parties or Full Weekend Trade events.

   Conclusion: The Bar is clean and well kept, the food is good, the rental hall is classy and clean. Its a good place to have in Spencer. Why not? You gotta love small business. The American default should be to root for them. They are the backbone of the American dream and they make up at least 50% of the American economy. I can’t see the downside of allowing someone who has worked their tail off to produce a place like Mr Frazier has the chance to grow. Its a YES for Wes and The Bunker Bar for the Lucas County Bee.
